Denver is in 10th place among 50 large U.S. cities in the latest ranking of the best markets for job seekers by career search engine Juju.com.
That's up from Denver's No. 11 ranking in both April and May, but down from the city's rankings of No. 8 in March, No. 9 in February, and No. 8 in both January and December 2009.
Juju's Job Search Difficulty Index for June is based on the ratio of jobless workers in a given market to job openings advertised online and in Juju's index.
Denver has 2.85 unemployed workers per advertised job in June, Juju said, versus 3.33 in May.
Washington, D.C., claimed the top spot among cities this month, followed by San Jose, Calif.; New York; Baltimore and Hartford, Conn.
Juju said the worst cities in which to find a job this month are St. Louis, Detroit, Miami, Las Vegas and Riverside, Calif.
In Juju's last ranking of job-search difficulty by state, covering May, Colorado was in 13th place, with a jobless-workers-per-advertised-job ratio of 4.06, down from No. 11 in April.
